Facing west (glorious sunsets) you can see Roundstone, six of the Twelve Bens and Cashel Hill as well as many other mountains. Bertraghboy Bay lies between the cottage and the mountains and provides an ever-changing vista.
Near the cottage, within a 5km radius, are some of the most beautiful beaches in Ireland – quiet and unspoiled and great for open water, and safe, sea swimming. Further afield, in Roundstone, are Dogs Bay, and Gurteen beaches that are simply world-class in terms of their beauty. The visitor is spoiled for choice in terms of walks, cycling (cycle hire in Clifden) fishing and sailing.
