Ask a Local

Sometimes the best part of a holiday is knowing who to ask.

Our Clifden-based team lives, works, and raises families right here in Connemara. If you need a quick recommendation, a last-minute afternoon idea, or a little local assistance during your stay, we're only a message away.

It's raining tomorrow. What can we do with the kids?

Connemara still has plenty to offer on a wet day. We can recommend family-friendly attractions, beaches, indoor activities, cafés, cinema options and places worth visiting where the weather won't spoil the day.

Where should we go for dinner tonight?

Tell us what you fancy and we'll point you in the right direction, from seafood and traditional Irish food to relaxed family dining, date-night restaurants and somewhere good for a pint afterwards.

Where can we hear traditional Irish music?

We can tell you what's happening locally during your stay and recommend the best places for live traditional music, sessions and a real Connemara atmosphere.

Can you help us organise a taxi or driver?

Yes. Local transport can be limited, particularly during busy periods, so we're happy to recommend local taxi providers, private drivers and transfer services.

We want to see the real Connemara. Where should we go?

Ask us. We can recommend beautiful beaches, scenic drives, walks, villages, viewpoints and lesser-known places that you might not discover from a standard tourist guide.

What's the best thing to do today?

Weather matters in Connemara! Tell us who's travelling with you and what you enjoy, and we'll suggest activities and places that suit the day.

Can you recommend a good walk?

Absolutely. Whether you're looking for an easy coastal stroll, a family-friendly walk or something more challenging, we can recommend routes based on your ability, location and the weather.

Where's the best beach nearby?

That depends on where you're staying, the weather and what you're looking for. We can recommend beaches for swimming, walking, children, surfing or simply finding somewhere peaceful.

Can you help us plan a special occasion?

Yes. If you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary, proposal or other special occasion, talk to us about private dining, cakes, flowers, local experiences and other little extras.

Can you recommend activities for our family or group?

Of course. We can help with ideas including boat trips, kayaking, fishing, horse riding, cycling, walking, surfing and other local experiences.

Can we ask you something that's not listed here?

Definitely.
